英国驻几内亚使馆发布新闻稿，英国与法国计划联手，共同出资，在几内亚khoumagueli新建一座大型太阳能光伏发电站。设计装机容量4万千瓦40mwp

thekhoumagueliplantwillbethefirstgrid-connectedsolarpowerplantinguineaandwilldeliver40mwpofcleanpowertoguinea’snationalgrid.usingexistinggridinfrastructure,khoumagueliwillalsobewell-positionedtoenableaplannedwestafricanpowerpoolprojectlinkingguineawithitsneighbours.

khoumagueliwillalsocomplementpowersuppliedbythenearby75mwgarafirihydroplant.duringperiodsoflowrainfall,thegarafiriplantwillbeabletoslowoperationsandstorewaterduringtheday(whenkhoumagueliisgeneratingpower)andthenrunitsturbinesathighcapacityovernight.deliveringpowerinsuchacomplementarywaycouldallow20%ofgarafiri’soutputtobetime-shifted,andalsominimiseanydisruptionstosupplycausedbyaplannedprogrammeofrefurbishmentsatthehydroplant.theprojectisthereforeexpectedtodemonstratetheuseofsolarpowertomitigatetheimpactofseasonalrainfallfluctuationsonhydropowersupply.
